AT Plastics, the specialty polymers business of Celanese, is a leading North American manufacturer of
a full range of EVA Copolymers and specialty LDPE resins. Our products, marketed under the Ateva® trade
name, are used in many applications including flexible packaging, thermal lamination film, hot melt
adhesive, concentrates, USP Class medical products and photo voltaic cells.
- Coating
and Laminating Applications
AT Plastics has set the industry standard EVA copolymers for extrusion coating and laminating. AT Plastics’ autoclave reactors produce resins with excellent processability and very low neck-in properties. State-of-the-art automated gel detection equipment is used to ensure the lowest possible level of gel within resins. - Hot
Melt Applications
AT Plastics is a premier producer of 9% to 40%VA EVA copolymers which are widely used in the manufacture of hot melt adhesives for labeling, case and carton closing, laminating, bookbinding and glue sticks. - Medical Applications
A line of Ateva® EVA copolymers and specialty LDPE resins are manufactured to be used in medical applications that require USP Class VI and ISO 10993 certifications. Applications include corrugated and smooth bore hose and tubing, nutrition pouches, and unit dose vials for inhalation therapy drugs. - Flexible Packaging Applications
Ateva® EVA copolymers from 12% to 28% VA content and low gel have been designed for batch-inclusion films, bag-in-box applications, stretch-hooder films, and specialty tie-layers. AT Plastics’ focus is in niche market areas where EVA copolymers can be designed to deliver value to the customer. - Photovoltaic Cell Applications
With the move to alternate energy sources, solar power is in high demand. AT Plastics has a line of Ateva® EVA copolymers that are used to produce the encapsulant used in Photovoltaic cells. These copolymers provide excellent light transmission and low gels while allowing for the production of sheeting that has long UV-stability and consistent dimensional-stability.
