Good appearance and excellent performance are key features of gloss paints and exterior wood stains and varnishes, where high gloss, long open time and good workability are some of the most important features sought by both paint producers and end users. High UV and weather resistance are very important in exterior applications. When the coated substrate is wood, the dimensional changes under different degrees of humidity and different temperatures must be managed.

The development of heterogeneous emulsions based on core-shell technology, like Mowilith® LDM 7451 or Mowilith LDM 7411, has enabled us to answer the initially contradictory demands for optimal balance between good blocking resistance and elasticity, making these binders a universal solution for high quality gloss paints.

Mowilith DM 2 H is a suitable binding system for wood coatings when superior flexibility is required. It features properties such as good pigment compatibility and very good weather resistance, making it suitable for exterior gloss paints. It also demonstrates excellent elasticity under high humidity and at low temperatures, and offers very good water vapor permeability.
