BACHELOR OF ARTS (COMMERCIAL ACADEMY - BERUFSAKADEMIE) WITH AN INTEGRATED APPRENTICESHIP FOR THE CHEMICAL INDUSTRY

In cooperation with the Hessischen Berufsakademie Frankfurt, Celanese offers a dual qualification, which can be completed in three years.

Theoretical education
You will spend three years at the Berufsakademie Frankfurt, during which time you will gain valuable theoretical knowledge and practical qualifications for your career at Celanese. You will attend intensive lectures and seminars, work on projects and case studies where you learn the latest in management theory and can specialize in one of many different related areas. Upon completion of  the requirements, you will receive a commercial academy (Berufsakademie) degree as Bachelor of Arts, which is recognized in Germany.

While earning  your degree, you will also complete a commercial apprenticeship for the chemical industry, which includes a formal examination administered by the  Chamber of Industry and Commerce. This commercial apprenticeship is a vital part of your dual qualification.

Work Experience
You will get to know our  company and work in all important departments at Celanese. You will have the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge you obtain at the commercial academy to everyday tasks  during your apprenticeship with us.

Your Profile

• You have graduated from high school with a good grade point average, especially in math, and you are interested in how business functions.
• You speak good English and have experience in MS-Office.
• Preferably, you already have work experience or have been involved in extracurricular activities.
• To handle an academic load and complete an apprenticeship, you need to be highly self-motivated, flexible, enjoy work  and be able to function well in stressful situations. You should be able to think analytically and work on a team.

Start of the program
Every August.

Length of the Program
It takes 3 years to complete the business degree, although the apprenticeship is finished after 1 ½ years.

Apprenticeship compensation in the State of Hesse (as of March 2008):

1. year of the program: € 679 per month
2. year of the program: € 742 per month
3. year of the program: € 819 per month

Please apply one year in advance (by September). Acceptance of applicants is decided in October.
