Trinity Horton

  • M.S. in chemistry from Purdue, May 2005
  • I am a Research & Development chemist at the Clear Lake Plant near Houston. I support the following project areas: new monomer synthesis, waste stream management, Acetic Anhydride/Acetic Acid research for process and unit development, Vinyl Acetate analytical & engineering project support; and Pilot Testing.  
  • I am also a member the Laboratory Safety Council, United Way site coordinator, and Recruitment team.

Andrew Olson

  • B.S. in chemical engineering from Purdue, May 2005
  • I am a production engineer for the Calvert City, Kentucky Plant. I provide design, process improvement and optimization support to the site.
  • I am also a Six Sigma Green Belt.

Jake Smith

  • B.S. in chemical engineering from Purdue, May 2002
  • I began working for National Starch in 2002.  In early 2005, Celanese acquired the Vinamul business of National Starch and I came over with the purchase. I am the Emulsions supply chain analyst with responsibilities for Supply Chain Six Sigma projects and Supply & Operation Planning metrics.
  • I enjoy baseball, hockey and painting.

Jeff Kirk

  • B.S. in chemical engineering from Purdue
  • MBA from Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi
  • 30 years with Celanese
  • Currently I am a Global Remediation manager, responsible for environmental remediation activities at multiple locations worldwide.
  • I enjoy bicycling, cooking, golf and metalwork.

Elise Fang

  • B.S. in chemical engineering from Purdue, May 2006
  • I am in the Celanese CHAMP program, a rotational development program consisting of four six-month assignments in a variety of functions, locations and businesses. I have worked in Supply Chain in Dallas, manufacturing in Singapore, and am currently working in market development at Ticona, our Engineered Polymer business, in Florence, KY.
  • I enjoy running, painting, and photography.

Joshua Kuechenberg

  • B.S. in chemical engineering from Purdue, May 2002
  • I began working for National Starch in June 2002 at the Meredosia (Ill.) facility. In early 2005, Celanese acquired the Vinamul business from National Starch and I came over with the purchase.  In 2007, I moved to the Enoree site and became the Production Engineer responsible for the two VAE reactors and the Continuous reactor.    
  • My hobbies include golf, softball and piano.

Adam Balchik

  • B.S. in chemical engineering from Purdue, May 2007
  • I am a process engineer at the Bishop Plant. I work on process improvement and design for the formaldehyde unit.
  • I enjoy kite boarding, kayaking, and backpacking.

Russ Stephens

  • B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University, 1996
  • MBA from Wayland Baptist University, 1999
  • 11 years with Celanese
  • I am currently an Operations Section Leader at our Pampa Plant within our Acetyls Division.  I have worked my entire career at the Pampa Plant.  I have held various positions within the Pampa Plant including Process Engineer, Production Engineer, and Six Sigma Black Belt.
  • I enjoy spending time with my family, playing/watching sports, lifting weights, and fishing.

Doug Peppeard

  • B.A in Business Administration from Texas A&M University, 1997
  • I am an Account Manager for AT Plastics for the Midwest Region
  • In my free time, I enjoy playing golf, hunting, fishing, watching college football and spending time with friends and family

Matthew Uzas

  • B.S. Chemical Engineering Purdue University, May 2006
  • Process Engineer for Emulsions. My responsibilities at the site include operations/process for 3 atmospheric reactors and support to our VAE Reactors. I am also working on my Six Sigma Green Belt Certification.
