Doug Madden
Executive Vice President and President Acetate, AT Plastics and Emulsions PVOH

A native of Chicago, Illinois, Madden holds a bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Illinois. Prior to joining American Hoechst Corporation in 1984 as manager of corporate distribution, he served in operations and distribution management roles within Warner-Lambert and Johnson & Johnson. 

In 1990, Madden served as business director for Ticona’s GUR business and held prior responsibilities as director of quality management for Specialty Products. Following these positions, Madden held several successive vice president level positions in finance, global procurement, and business support within Hoechst Celanese Life Sciences Group, Celanese Fibers and Celanese Chemicals businesses.

Madden was appointed to the Celanese Executive Committee in September 2000, and named vice president and general manager of the acrylates business and head of global supply chain for Celanese Chemicals.  In 2003, Madden was named President of Celanese Acetate. In 2006, Madden in addition to Acetate, assumed responsibility for the Emulsions, PVOH and AT Plastics businesses.  These businesses (in addition to the Nutrinova business), make up the CIS (Consumer Industrial Specialties) grouping.
