Celanese Acetate, a business of Celanese, manufactures cellulose acetate products used in filtering and other industrial applications. We have manufacturing facilities and sales offices in the United States, Europe, Canada, Mexico and Asia. Derived from highly purified wood pulp from re-forested trees, cellulose products are "natural" and "environmentally friendly." Celanese Acetate products include: acetate flake, acetate tow and acetate film.

Acetate Flake
Cellulose acetate flake can be converted into a wide range of products from tough, clear, impact-resistant plastics to soft, drapeable, absorbent fabrics.

Acetate Tow
Celanese Acetate brings more than 40 years of experience to acetate tow production. Cellulose acetate tow is made from acetate flake. It is clean, soft, tasteless and safe. Throughout the years, we have set the highest standards of quality so that our customers get the most uniform cellulose acetate tow available. Our extensive product line of Celanese acetate tow has been engineered to run on the most demanding high-speed production equipment in use today for processing crimped tow. Our technical staff understands customer requirements and can select or design the exact combination of denier per filament (dpf), total denier, and other physical properties that are required for excellent performance.

Acetate Film
Clarifoil® is the world’s leading producer of innovative cellulose acetate films for print-lamination, carton windows and many other applications. Our customers are printers, carton manufacturers, retailers, packaging buyers, publishers and designers. Our markets are in the high-end food, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals markets, where first rate quality and eco-friendliness are important to both the manufacturer and the end-user.
